The U23's season progressed along its pathway to the Inter Service competition with another training weekend. The ultimate aim was a game against London United Hospitals, which was sadly cancelled due to the Hospital's lack of front row players. In terms of wins and losses not the best of weekends to be fair as all the teams lost out to Torquay. The Devonport Service 1 st's were away in Torquay and ended up losing 33-26. Actually, it was a very close game that Services could so nearly have won. Inside 10 mins the score stood at 3-10 to Services following a penalty from Matt Anstis and a try from flanker Dyan Cossey which was converted by Anstis. Torquay then scored a converted try to level the score and then pulled ahead with another try and a penalty, 20-10.
