Beasley Leads in League

Royal Navy Rugby Union prop forward Kye Beasley has been brushing up his leadership skills in the League format of the game. He captained Cornish Rebels to a rousing 36-26 victory over Devon in the annual County of Origin game at Redruth. Kye and fellow Navy player Aaron Hunt caught the eye in the match for both their aggressive defence and also strong ball carrying, something all Navy Rugby supporters will look forward to in the coming season. With the League season over Kye returns to the Redruth colours in the Union code. Navy Referees In Historic Twickenham Occasion

Paul Burton and Roger Baileff, both members of the RNRU's Referee Society, were part of the team of RFU match officials chosen to keep order at the inaugural World Club Sevens. Royal Navy Rugby Union Announces Alligin Photography Partnership

he Royal Navy Rugby Union have signed a three year contract with Alligin Photography for imagery, articles and access to the Alligin Photography research project on the History of Navy Rugby. The agreement will see Alligin Photography provide a variety of high class action imagery from a cross- section of representative matches and key Union events. As part of the on-going development of the RNRU's communications activities, Alligin Photography will provide both match reports and a number of feature articles throughout the season. Rugby in Libya

Lieutenant Paul Lane, Assistant Maritime Advisor in Libya and the RNRU Development Coach, Ady Cherrington at HMS TEMERAIRE have been supporting the development of rugby in Libya .  So far, they have managed to ship out some balls, post protectors from Twickenham and a set of goal posts from TEMERAIRE. More recently , a rugby match was arranged between the combined Tripoli teams and HMS ECHO, which received huge media attention in Libya, including a slot on SKY News. Inter Command Competition 2013-14 Inverdale Trophy

The Inter Command Competition for the Inverdale Trophy will take place between 30 Oct 13 - 29 Jan 14, in accordance with the RNRU structured season. The aim of the Inter Commands is to provide a competitive competition at a Command level exposing players to a higher standard of rugby than Unit standard, thus creating a players playing pathway. This will also provide an opportunity for representative team management to look at players in a competitive environment for possible representative teams.
