The Royal Navy Rugby Union representative season is about to get underway and the first team to take to the pitch are the Under 23s. As reigning Inter-Service champions, the Team are keen to defend their title and Lieutenant Commander Rob O'Kane, the U23 Assistant Director of Rugby (ADoR), took time out from his busy schedule to talk to us about the team philosophy and their aims for the season. Good show from the Sharks at their last event of the season

The Sharks arrived at Fort Blockhouse on Friday afternoon to commence training for probably the hardest event of the season - the National Pub 7s at Harpenden.  All the players were put through their paces working hard on set plays to deliver frantic rugby which the 7s side of the game is renowned for.  The positive attitude continued throughout the weekend with further training sessions held on Saturday before the trip to Harpenden. Dates for your Diary - UK Armed Forces Announce Forthcoming Fixtures

As part of their 2016/2017 fixture list UKAF rugby have announced the dates of their forthcoming Remembrance matches in support of the Royal British Legion. On 11 November the UKAF Women will travel to Cardiff Arms Park to take on Wales Rugby Union Women's team. On 21 November the UKAF Senior XV will return to Bath RFC and square up to Bath United. Lieutenant Charlotte Fredrickson and Leading Writer Lauren Morton have both been named in an extended provisional squad of 36 and will be hoping to make the final cut of 23 players who will travel to Cardiff in the Autumn. The RFU are holding a Constituent Body Orientation day at Twickenham Stadium on Thursday 6 October 2016.  As the RNRU is a Constituent Body (CB) of the RFU we have been invited to send RNRU members to attend.  The aim of the day is to provide volunteers with information about the RFU and the support that is available from the executive staff and how CBs can support the aims and objectives of the RFU.  There will also be opportunities for networking and to find out more about leadership support and development pathways.
