The Royal Navy Men's Sevens side, The Navy Sharks, headed to London Irish at Sunbury-on-Thames today for the second round of the 'WowHydrate' Super 7s Series UK this weekend, hoping to build on their last performance in Newbury.  The series pits the best sevens teams from the UK against each other with a smattering of international opposition.  The Sharks were up against the Wooden Spoon Marauders in their first pool match and despite scoring 3 tries were pipped 22-19. Tri-Services Scotland Tournament to be Live Streamed

Tri-Services and live rugby are back... but it isn't quite Twickenham! The Tri-Services Scotland tournament takes place on Thursday 26th of May at the Oriam Sports Performance Centre just outside of Edinburgh at Herriot Watt University.  Like most events the annual round Robin makes a return after a 2 year hiatus and the Navy will look to retain their crown (of thistles). The last time the event took place the Navy team were bolstered by players swollen playing numbers thanks to the Aircraft Carriers and they will have to do without this time. The Women of the RNRU were victorious in their final game of their tour against strong Cape Town opponents in the form of False Bay RFC. The game was full of attacking intent combined with strong defence and the Navy Women were determined to show their improvements they’d made throughout the tour. They were rewarded with a try by ET Sian McLaughlin in the first two minutes which set the tone for the rest of the match. Summer is here. the sun is coming out, holiday plans are being made and Sevens is back! The Royal Navy 7s team, the ‘Navy Sharks’ start off their 2022 campaign in the GB Super 7s Series at the first tournament at Newbury RFC this weekend. Now one of the core teams the Sharks will be up against so tough competition in the series this year with major elite teams from around the country as well as International teams from China, Spain and Hong Kong.
