Tries galore for HMS Portland in Holland

HMS PORTLAND's Ospreys answered all their critics by putting Dutch side Den Helder RFC to the sword when the two sides faced each other on 1 July 2011. During a high profile visit to support the Netherlands Navy Days PORTLAND relished the opportunity to play a side that had so often been a thorn in the side to Ship's rugby team. Touch Rugby Competition Bahrain

The above event took place at the NSA Bahrain's Memorial Field and was a great success with 11 British and American teams taking part.  The weather predictably turned out nice again with the dry winds and late afternoon temperatures making the usually intense heat bearable, whilst still ensuring that all competitors worked up a good glow and sweat!  The event was run over 2 Leagues with the winners of each playing in the final.  HMS CHIDDINGFOLD put in a strong performance with their A & B teams making it to the final.  A sudden death situation occurred after a 1-1 score, with CHID B team eventually taking the  their beating shipmates.  A competitive ...
