Navy look razor sharp before Twickenham clash

in the final dress rehearsal before their Twickenham showdown next Saturday, the Senior XV produced another fine display against Hampshire at Basingstoke RFC. Hampshire weren’t going to let the Dark Blue have it all their own way. They were quick out the blocks scoring two tries in 15 minutes to lead the game 12-3. From that point, Dave Pascoe’s men showed their class and scored seven unanswered tries from Lloydal, Raumakita, Hayler, Vakalutukali, Gobey and Boulton in a high tempo game. With 15 minutes to go, Hampshire scored two consolation try’s to make the final score 48-22 to the Navy. The performance would’ve pleased the coaching staff. The players look bi...

Awesome Navy beat the RAF

The Navy laid down a real marker in the opener of the 2019 Inter Services Championship with a performance of the highest quality against the RAF at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday. Prior to the match many felt that it was too close to call. The Navy had recently demolished the Marine Nationale, whilst the RAF are current IS champions fielding a squad packed with talent. They dominated both territory and possession whilst their defence was well organised ...

The Inter-Services are back, and the greatest military rugby competition in the world is starting with an absolute cracker between the RAF and the Navy on Friday night. Dave Pascoe has rewarded his players by naming an unchanged starting fifteen to face the tournament holders at the Twickenham Stoop. The Navy go into the competition full of confidence after their demolition of the Marine Nationale in Plymouth two weeks ago. The RAF however will be a different proposition, and currently have the upper hand on the Dark Blue after winning the last two championship fixtures. As for the RAF, the Senior Service are under no illusions as to how well prepared they’ll be. They’re a...

Seven New Caps

Seven new players joined Navy Rugby’s most exclusive club after their emphatic win against the Marine Nationale. Earning an RNRU Cap is a huge achievement, and after the Senior XV comprehensively beat the Marine Nationale seven new caps were awarded.   AET Brad Janes was involved in the squad last year and narrowly missed out on Inter Service selection. This season he has been playing regular National 2 rugby at Redruth and deservedly earnt his starting shirt against the French. Mne Craig Duncan was the stand out player in the Inverdale Challenge and is a new to the squad. Against the French he was outstanding and will hopefully be an RNRU regular for many seasons to come.
