RN Defeat RNZN and RAN to Win the Babcock Commonwealth Cup

The Royal Navy have retained the Commonwealth Cup after convincing wins against the Royal New Zealand Navy and the Royal Australian Navy at Brickfields, the home of Plymouth Albion. In the opening match, the Royal Navy beat their counterparts from NZ by 26-12. Before the action began, a minute's silence was held in tribute to the Queen, as well as a rousing rendition of 'God Save The King'. The Senior Service were quick to make an impact in the match and raced into a 21-0 lead. While the Royal New Zealand Navy improved in the second half, it wasn't enough as they were beaten by 14 points. Date for 2023 Army Navy match announced

The 2023 match day will follow the same format as this year. A full programme of rugby will again start with the stars of the future from the Army Cadets and the youth sections of Devonport Services RFC. and US Portsmouth RFC. The 104th men’s match will kick off at 14:00 and the 19th women’s match will conclude the day, kicking off at 17:00. Both games will be playing for the Babcock trophy.
