One look at the team sheet said it all.  A Bath United back line packed full of Premiership and International experience was to prove too strong for a Navy side that had a new U23 pairing in the centre, and a rejigged back row due to the late replacement of Number 8, Ian Cooper. Dave Pascoe Named Combined Services Sportsman of the Year

Servicemen and women who have excelled in sports over the past year were recognised at the annual Combined Services Sports Awards yesterday, 20 Mar 14.  The awards cover 5 categories: Sportsman, Sportswoman, Sports Team, Sports Official and Adaptive. The awards are an an annual event which mark the culmination of the many sporting successes achieved by the men and women of the Armed Forces.  The RNRU are delighted to announce that CPOAET Dave Pascoe, the RN Sportsman of the Year 2013, was also awarded the CS Sportsman of the Year 2013.  CPOAET Pascoe is currently serving in 771 NAS, the frontline SAR unit based at RNAS Culdrose.  He first played for the RNRU ...

Sam Davies will later today become the 711th player to be capped by the Royal Navy Rugby Union when he pairs Mat Tichias in the centre as the Royal Navy take on the Marine Nationale. Following two seasons of impressive displays in the U23 shirt, for both the Navy and the Combined Services, his elevation is not a surprise and became a certainty following the injury to Dale Sleeman. Though Sam is the only new cap in the backs there is a new look to the forwards with three debutants.
