1 st Round sees HMS Clyde draw a home fixture against HMS Heron and HMS Sultan Host HMS Middleton both fixture to be player before 24 Oct.  The winners of these 2 games will face HMNB Portsmouth and HMS Collingwood in the ¼ Finals.  The other ¼ final games sees the holders HMS Seahawk take on the only Royal Marine team 30 Cdo RM and HMBS Devonport v HMS Ocean

Weds 12 Sep: - The Rectory saw HMNB Devonport preparing for the 1st Round of the Navy Cup by taking on local Combination side Devonport High School Old Boy's. The Naval base ending the evening with a 29 - 17 win. On Saturday the Devonport 1 st Team travelled to Bideford who presently sit second from the top of the Western Counties West League. Sadly they lost 33 - 18, Bideford's win was not quite emphatic as it looked. Services had as many chances as Bideford but failed to convert them in to points. 3 pts from a Matt Anstis penalty then going to 7 - 10 ahead thanks to a Jai Geraty try, Anstis converted. U23 2012 Season Gets Underway

The RNRU U23 commenced their 2012 season last weekend with a 2 day training camp conducted at HMS Sultan. The purpose being the chance for new players to understand the level and commitment required to represent the Royal Navy at U23 level. Unfortunately, the projected numbers did not quite meet the target figures, however the training weekend still progressed under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff. The weekend was very productive and gave an opportunity for players to be introduced to the Royal Navy playing style. RNRU HOLDS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Royal Navy Rugby Union held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 14 th September. This year it was decided to move away from the traditional venue of HMS Temeraire in Portsmouth and instead travelled to RNAS Yeovilton. The AGM was opened by the RNRU Chairman Capt (Chris) Alcock OBE who reported on the sad passing of 2 Life Members: Capt (Rtd) Dermot Crean RN and Cdr (Rtd) Terry Le Manquais. Many in the room knew both of these stalwarts of Navy Rugby. Chris then reviewed the 2011/12 season, paying particular thanks to all of the unsung supporters of the Union. Royal Marines Rugby Union - Argyll Bowl 2012

CTCRM and Premiership Rugby Club, Exeter Chiefs played host to the Royal Marines' annual Inter-Unit Rugby Union competition. The Argyll Bowl was contested from 3 - 6 September under a beating summer sun in what was for most, their first week back after a well earned summer leave. Operational commitments meant that the Bowl was not contested last year with a 10s tournament taking place instead which was won by Cdo Log Regt RM (CLR RM). Once again we find the Corps as busy as ever, with 40 Cdo RM on the cusp of deploying to Herrick 17 and other units heavily involved in support to the Paralympics.
