In the first half Devonport Services were denied 2 tries, one from Rob Ede and the other from Jack Martin who made a super solo run and went over the line with the Okehampton scrum half, the view from all was that he rolled over and touched down. However, the referee said he was unsighted and didn't award the try. As the teams came off at half time the score stood at 3-3 as Matt Anstis matched Oke's penalty. In the second half Services kept Okehampton to 3-3, until about 15 minutes from the end of the match, a draw looked likely to be the outcome and a bonus point for Services. This Friday, the 16 th of November will see the Royal Navy U23s begin their 2012 Inter-Services campaign in earnest, with the "Young Tyros" of the Senior Service facing their ‘Light Blue' counterparts from the Royal Air Force under floodlights at Burnaby Road, Portsmouth, the home of Navy Rugby. This season has been a relatively short one by typical Navy U23 standards, with fixtures against a Chichester RFC Select XV with Oxford and Cambridge Universities providing testing opposition for the Navy. This weekend saw the Royal Navy U23s complete the double against the Universities with a fixture against a Cambridge University LX team at Burnaby Road. With the side again skippered by AB (Tom) Davies (HMS Illustrious), the starting XV contained several changes from the side defeated the previous week by an Oxford University U21 XV, and included debuts on the wing for Mne Andrews (43 Cdo (FPGRM)) and at hooker for Cpl (Mark) Sharp (CTCRM).
