The Royal Navy have completed their last test on the road to Twickenham, with an impressive victory over National League One’s Taunton Titans. The Navy out-scored Taunton by five tries to four, with the rolling maul proving crucial in this West Country clash that finished 35-28 to the Navy. With the Army Masters just a week away, the Mariners planned an additional fixture to keep them fresh and ready and allow them to play on an artificial pitch to replicate the track expected at Rosslyn Park. A strong squad travelled up to Bristol but due to the current situation in Sudan a few could not. They were fortunate to have Avon & Somerset Police providing the opposition for the evening. The conditions at Dings RFC were dry and cool, creating the prospect of running rugby; both sides looked keen to engage.
