Rugby for Heroes is dedicated to raising funds through the support of the rugby community and their belief in resettling returning service men and women. We aim to support those who have suffered traumatic times and support them in their retraining and assisting them in finding a new career. The strength and depth of the rugby community offers a home and purpose to our returning service personnel. This is the launch of the Rugby for Heroes 2012 calendar. Acting Director of Rugby CPO 'Ash' Coates provided a few thoughts on the forthcoming game against the Samoan Police The Samoan Police have demonstrated that they are a capable side so far in the Competition. They pushed the British Army hard in their opening pool game before narrowly defeating the French Combined Services at the weekend. The quarter-final game against the Samoan Police on Thu 13 Oct at KO 1300 (Local) will be a hotly contested affair and will provide the RN Senior XV will an excellent challenge in the first fixture between the 2 sides. Royal Navy Young Players Show Promise

The Navy's second game at the IDRC saw them take on a semi professional ACT Brumbies XV at T.G Millner Field in Eastwood, Sydney. A Brumbies team comprising of the best players from the premier 1 st grade clubs in the Canberra area. The power and fitness of the ACT players was evident throughout the match and they were on the scoreboard as early as 7 minutes with a well constructed try. An early injury to ET (Ian) Cooper (HMS Astute) also hampered the RN as he was replaced after just 10 minutes.
