The Royal Navy Senior Men bowed to convention and took to USSG wearing white allowing Oxford University to wear their renowned and nearly identical navy blue. In a game where tries were scored, it was the scoreless last twenty minutes that was the most entertaining as the Seniors put on a resolute display against a spirited OURFC. The final try which put the RN back into the lead was created by Matt Scott whose deft offload to Papp put replacement Jack Wright in position to cross the line after brushing off the tacklers. On a cold February evening the RN Mariners travelled up the road to play the Havant Mariners, an exciting encounter which has always pulled a big supporting crowd looking forward to an entertaining evening. The game started fast and furious with both sides trying to get a feel for the opposition and work out their patterns of play and processes. For the Navy side the players had to take time to work out how each other played. Havant had the advantage of local players who play together week in and week out. HMNB Devonport V Lightning Force 01 Feb 23 KO 1800. Being the first time these teams have met, Devonport had a good turn out of 27 keen and eager players. However, there were many new faces within the team and their warm up was invested in establishing drills ready for the fixture. The coaches had their work cut out to get the team prepared in short order. Lightening Force (LF) who had minimal numbers for the match appeared well drilled and prepared. Devonport Services RFC - The Season So Far

Devonport Services 1st XV started the 2022/23 season for the first time at level 5. Under new Head Coach Ben Russell they travelled to Lydney on Saturday 3 September, coming away with a good win. Early season form for the 1st XV was good with 4th position in Regional 1 South West (level 5) held at the Christmas break. Devonport Services Pilgrims (2nd XV) started the season in Counties 2 Devon (level 8) but have struggled with availability recently and are currently in the bottom half of the league.
