Devonport Services RFC - The Season So Far

Devonport Services 1st XV started the 2022/23 season for the first time at level 5. Under new Head Coach Ben Russell they travelled to Lydney on Saturday 3 September, coming away with a good win. Early season form for the 1st XV was good with 4th position in Regional 1 South West (level 5) held at the Christmas break.

Devonport Services Pilgrims (2nd XV) started the season in Counties 2 Devon (level 8) but have struggled with availability recently and are currently in the bottom half of the league.

The number of injuries sustained by the Senior men this season has hampered results for both teams up to now. Services currently have approx. 20 players unavailable due to injury. This is slowly improving, and players are gradually regaining their fitness for the end of season run in.

Devonport Services Ladies are playing their rugby in Women’s NC 1 South West but have also been suffering with player availability, this is mainly due to service players being away on deployment. The ladies have been looking for a coach to take them forward for a long time now so please get in touch with fraser.pearson599@mod.gov.uk if you are looking for a coaching role in the Plymouth area.

All rugby supporters in the Plymouth area have their eyes on Saturday 18th February when DSRFC entertain their neighbours Ivybridge at the Rectory 14:30. This is also Devonport Services RFC ex-players day so please come and support the current team if you are in the area.
