Three Games From Twickenham

Following their 33 - 3 home victory over Falmouth, Devonport Services are just three more matches from appearing at Twickenham in the Powergen Junior Vase. However to continue their journey Services will need to be on top form and travel well when they meet Bicester on the 14 Jan 2006. Winning away from home though has been a feature of Devonport's cup run, having already accounted for Cirencester 22 - 10; Bridport 40 - 10 and Plymouth Civil Service 41 - 0 on their travels. Apart from the Falmouth result the only other home tie saw a 10 - 6 victory over Tavistock. The draw has proved to be more kind to Bicester. Following two away games in the early rounds Bicester have been drawn at home ever since and have won all their games fairly comfortably. In many ways the two clubs are very similar, both boast a very strong Junior Section and both have strong links with Armed Forces rugby, Bicester leaning more to the Army. Hopefully it will be the matelots who will be in the draw for the Quarter Finals and no doubt hoping that the tie will be at the Rectory. Best wishes from all of Navy Rugby go to the club and their 1st XV.
