NAVY WOMEN LEAD FROM THE FRONT IN RFU (W) SOUTH FIXTURE

RFU (W) South Region recorded another victory on Sunday defeating East Region 19 7 at Sutton and Epsom Rugby Club. As reported previously, both RNRU (W) players Vice Captain Sophy Roseaman and Pam Williams were once again present in the RFU (W) South starting line up. The East Regions side had a much larger pack this week and were a bigger side in general. However, both Pam and Sophy raised their games and clearly enjoyed the occasion. Pam turned back the clock and with a strong workman-like performance dominated proceedings in the front row. Sophy also put in another fine performance seeing her out-perform her opposite number, regularly punching through Easts defensive line and scoring a well worked and much deserved try for the second match running. Their coach Dave Garner was very pleased with their performance. The girls now have a well deserved break from action with the Regional Rugby he said however, both will be looking to represent the RNRU (W) in our next fixture at Taunton. The South Region squad re-commences training in the first week of March for our next Regional fixture against the North East. This latest result certainly bodes well for the remainder of the competition. Details of the next match result and future RFU (W) updates will appear shortly. All at the RNRU wish them the best of luck.
