First Women Awarded Navy Caps

At the 2011 RNRU AGM, the decision to award Navy Caps to the Women's team was ratified.  In order to qualify for a Cap, a woman must represent the RN at 6 Inter-Service fixtures (with the first eligible season being 2008/9) as well as continuously displaying core Naval Values.  Following the 2010/11 Inter-Service Competition, 6 members of the Royal Navy Women's team became eligible for the award of a Cap:

All these players have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, commitment and skill, which make them a fitting group to be the first to receive the Navy Cap.

The Caps were presented by Rear Admiral Jones, Vice President RNRU, prior to the final of the Royal Navy Inter Command Competition at Burnaby Road on 19 Jan 12.

LAWT (Sophy) Hinds and LAET (Pam) Williams were unable to attend the event due to operational commitments and will be presented with their Caps at a later date.
