How do you celebrate Victory in Europe?  If you are the 2 nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force you embark on a 33 match tour of the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany.  You win 29 of your matches only losing 2.  If you are the Royal Navy Rugby Union, you honour their ambition by making the game a ‘capped’ match ensuring its unique place in Navy Rugby history. On 2 May 2020, the Royal Navy Rugby Union Women’s squad would have been making history by playing their first ever Army v Navy Inter Service match at Twickenham Stadium. However, with all sporting events cancelled, the Army and Navy Rugby Women’s squads decided to make their own piece of history by challenging each other to complete over 82,000 burpees, equivalent to the capacity of Twickenham Stadium, in order to raise funds in support of the fantastic work being completed by the NHS.
