Before Saracens Women played Worcester in their latest Women’s Premiership match former England International and World Cup winner Maggie Alphonsi was made a Life Member of the Saracens ARFC, joining internationals from the men’s game like Richard Hill and Kieran Bracken.  During the match Maggie celebrated her honour by scoring the home teams second try as they eased to a 12 – 0 lead.  However by half time Worcester had reduced the deficit to 12 – 5 with a well taken try albeit against the run of play. RN Women See Success At England Academy Trials

3 members of the RN Women’s team have been selected for the England Academy squads at the recent trials.  LWtr Lauren Morton (HMS Dragon) and AB Stacey Hargrave (HMS Richmond) have both been selected for the London and South East Academy squad whilst Mid Olivia Critchley (DTUS Trojan Sqn) has been selected for the North of England squad.  This is a fantastic achievement for the players and shows the amount of hard work that they have put in over the past season.  Never before have the RN(W) had as much representation at this level and so we are really proud that these players have been successful at this standard.  All 3 players were key in the RN(W) Inter...

Sunday saw the RN Under 23s take to the hallowed turf that is the home of Royal Navy rugby – Burnaby Road.  National 1s Ealing Trailfinders academy travelled from the capital and provided the opposition for the U23s first match of the season. The Royal Navy Rugby Year Starts on Sunday

When the Royal Navy U23 XV start their 2014 Inter Service campaign against Ealing Trailfinders on Sunday, a twelve-month journey for Royal Navy Rugby begins.  U23 Inter Services in November, the Marine Nationale in April, Twickenham in May and hopefully the Twickenham Stoop in October 2015 – a great year awaits.  With the recent success of the U23s in discovering new talent, it is likely that one of the new boys on Sunday will be running out against the Army in front of 80,000 in May.
