The Royal Navy Senior XV will be renewing its rivalry with the Irish Defence Forces (IDF) on Thursday 15 th March at United Services Sports Ground, Burnaby Rd, Portsmouth. The kick-off is at 1900 and entry to the game is free. This will be the eleventh meeting of the two sides, the first being in 2002 at London Welsh. The overall series stands at 7 - 3 to the Royal Navy, with the home side being the current holders of the trophy after a win in Cork last season. Portsmouth Welcomes a 'Feast of Rugby' on Wed 14 Mar

This Wed sees a ‘Feast of Rugby' in Portsmouth as both the Royal Navy Mariners and Women do battle against the Prison Service and Trojans. The first to kick-off at 5pm is the Mariners who take on their old rivals the Prison Service who last season had snatched victory from the Mariners in the final few minutes of a very competitive game. This is followed by the Royal Navy Women v Trojans kick-off 7.30pm in what will be their penultimate fixture prior to the 2012 Inter-Services competition. The Royal Navy Senior XV travelled to Championship team Esher on Wednesday night to play their 3 rd game of the season, a season that so far had seen them beat both Varsity Universities Oxford and Cambridge.  The game would give coaches CPO (Ash) Coates, PO (Owen) Salmon and CPOPT (Clayton) Patilla and DoR Lt Cdr (Andy) Kellett RN a chance to look at some players who had not featured in the previous games and also to consider players who had only recently joined the squad. However, Esher although bottom of the Championship League and facing play-offs to remain in the league were on a roll having won their last 3 games.
