Women’s rugby union in the Royal Navy is on the up and since its creation in 1999 the squad has grown from strength to strength. With player numbers continuing to rise, despite the recent pandemic, the RNRU Women in 21/22 fielded one of its strongest sides to date which Resulted in an amazing season with some great team performances. Whilst also seeing the squad play the first every Army V Navy game on the hallowed grounds of Twickenham and the first ever tour to South Africa. This is the start of a new chapter for the squad, as they now work towards their first ever Inter Services win and a follow up tour in seasons to come.

Whilst the calibre and number of players continues to grow, there is always a need for volunteers to become part of the Team Support Group (TSG). The TSG is fundamental to ensuring the players have a successful season! Can you help? Yes, the roles are challenging and need good time management to ensure you can balance your primary day job with your voluntary rugby TSG role, but the reward of seeing the squad performing well on the pitch, players being awarded caps and raising the Inter Services cup is second to none!

Do you want to join the RNRU family with the Women's squad on the next stage of their journey and be the next member of the TSG jumping for joy pitch side? If so the Assistant Coach position is currently being advertised. If you are interested please check out the current vacancies page:

You won’t regret it!
