Navy v RAF 2018 – Charity of the day
We are delighted to announce that the chosen charity of the day for the 2018 Royal Navy v Royal Air Force Match will be the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).
For over ten years, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has been the principal charity of the Royal Navy. As a world class grant making charity, the RNRMC has distributed over £55 million to help ensure that sailors, marines and their families remain supported, for life.
The charity has worked to improve the lives of serving personnel by funding projects and facilities that boost morale and enhance working environments. It also distributes millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the families of Royal Navy and Royal Marines, and these offer a vital outreach of support via a range of services, anything from organising family days and community events to providing support in bereavement. The RNRMC are just as committed to supporting the veteran community, contributing funds to both elderly and working age veterans in addition to looking after their partners, families and children.
Hilary Jukes, Regional Fundraising Coordinator for the RNRMC adds: “It is a great honour to be selected as the charity of the day for the 2018 Royal Navy v Royal Air Force rugby match, part of the annual Inter-services Championship. The money donated from the event will help us to continue supporting those in the Naval Service whose lives have been affected by injury, bereavement and illness.”
