The Royal Navy Rugby Union is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to take on the role of Head Coach for the Navy Rugby Senior Women's team.
As part of the Royal Navy and a National Constituent Body of the Rugby Football Union, the Royal Navy Rugby Union plays a vital role in managing, administering, and developing the game of Rugby Union within the Royal Navy. Our vision is to be fun, relevant, and successful, inspiring players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators to enjoy rugby at all levels, reflecting the best of the Service.
Responsibilities of the Head Coach include:
- Leading the coaching staff and players of the Navy Rugby Senior Women's team.
- Ensuring on-field performance excellence.
- Development and selection of a squad to be competitive in the Inter-Services Championship.
- Identifying, selecting, and planning for the development of assistant coaches and team support staff.
- Maintaining high standards and protocols within the Senior Women’s XV rugby area.
- Promoting Navy representation in various competitive environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong background and passion for rugby.
- Coaching CV and evidence of CPD.
- Commitment to Navy Rugby and the ability to support the Royal Navy Rugby Union effectively. (Senior Women’s Training Camps run in the period Jan – May)
- Knowledge of the sporting landscape within the Royal Navy, preferably with experience in a rugby environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A serving member of the Royal Navy or Royal Marines. Reserves and civilians will be consider by exception.
- Personable and capable of engaging with stakeholders effectively.
This is a voluntary role with a commitment expected for a 2-3 year tenure.
