Cossack Sword

The Cossack Sword was presented to the Royal Navy Rugby Union by former player and selector, Captain Leigh Merrick Royal Navy and first awarded in 2000. The sword is for "Ground Gained and Held" and awarded at the end of each season to the player, from the Royal Navy Senior XV, whose performances over the course of the season best meet the battling qualities invoked by the heritage of the "Cossack Warrior".

Soapy Watson Memorial Trophy

First presented in 2007 the trophy, in memory of Warrant Officer 'Soapy" Watson is presented to the team support member who has contributed over and above the call of duty. Soapy was the most consummate of team players. His support of Navy Rugby was fulsome at all levels and his abilities as an administrator were outstanding. He was that rare breed who always managed to appear cheerful whatever the pressures. A great man and someone who reflected the values that are strived for in Navy Rugby.

Brian Weeks Memorial Trophy

Commander Brian Weeks Royal Navy was for many years the drive and energy behind Navy Youth Rugby serving the cause as Secretary and then Chairman. Through his efforts many players were identified and nurtured for future success in both Naval and International colours. On leaving the Service he was awarded Life Membership in 1991. In his memory the Brian Weeks trophy is awarded to the best aged group player in the lead up to and including the Inter Services Tournament. It was first awarded in 2007.

Most Capped Players

When compiling any list the only thing you can be sure of is it will promote discussion and disagreement in equal measure. When listing the most capped players for the Royal Navy Rugby Union a decision had to be made where to draw the line. After careful consideration the line has been drawn at 11 or more caps. All of these players must have therefore represented the Royal Navy for over five years, a remarkable achievement and one which in modern International rugby would probably pass the magic fifty cap mark. Currently 51 players hold 11 or more caps they are:
