Chiefs to Provide Final Warm Up Test

The RNRU Under 23s face their final warm up challenge prior to Inter Services 2021 against the Academy of Premiership side Exeter Chiefs.

The fixture will not only serve as a final hit out for the young Sailors and Marines but is likely to be one of their highlights of the season as they run out onto the turf of former Premiership Champions at their home of Sandy Park, Exeter. With wins against student opposition under their belt and plenty of experience from all their games this season the Under 23s will be looking to finalise their game plan prior to playing the Army Under 23s the following week. But the Chief's Academy is likely to provide stern opposition, after all this is the breeding ground of future premiership stars.

Assitant Director of Rugby for the Under 23s Owen Salmon said "Wednesday's game will be the final opportunity to put the finishing touches to their Inter-Service preparations against a tough opposition. The game is traditionally a tight affair with both teams giving their all"

The Under 23s will play the Army at Brickfields, the home of Plymouth Albion RFC in Plymouth on the 10th of November with kick off at 19:00. Be sure to get to the ground early to not only support the Royal Navy but to witness the Navy Cup semi final between HMNB Devonport and HMS Seahawk which kicks off at 1630. Food and drink will be available at the ground so come and make an evening of it at Brickfields, entry will be £5 (£4 on production of a suitable ID card).
