LT CDR DOC COX (COMBINED SERVICES DOR) UPDATE ON COMBINED SERVICES RUGBY

With the game against OxBridge just around the corner and the Combined Services U23 squad preparing to form-up prior to the match a warm-up game against a Hampshire Select has been arranged for Sun 21 Apr 13 to be hosted by Gosport and Fareham Rugby Club (KO 14.00).  This match will give the coaching staff the final opportunity to look at players and select a final squad for Twickenham.

Momentum is also continuing for the November Barbarians fixture and all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle regarding coaching staff for the men's and ladies team are almost in place, with only one position in the CS Women's set-up remains for WO (Glen) Barraclough (CS Women's Head Coach) to propose.

The CS Senior squad set-up has recruited its final coach to join the set-up and bring his talent and experience to the side.  WO (Dave) Sibson, a highly regarded Ex RN and CS player / coach, will be leading the attack options against the Baa Baa's and complimenting the other high calibre coaches.  Dave's knowledge of the game and experience will bring an exciting edge on the park for the selected players.

Director of Rugby ‘Doc' Cox stated ‘It was critical getting Dave involved to raise the level of attacking options for Head Coach CPO (Ash) Coates and the style of rugby the CS wants to use against the Baa Baa's during the Remembrance Day fixture'.

Doc went on to say of the fixture ‘The game this year will move to Plymouth and be played at Plymouth Albion RFC. I am sure it will be a memorable game for all those involved and supporting'.
