Early Christmas Present for Navy Referee

Navy Rugby referee, Duncan McClement, has received an early Christmas present with his first senior international appointment.  While most eyes will be focussed on Wales v Italy and England v France on the opening day of the 2014 Six Nations tournament Duncan will be in Madrid for Spain v Russia as an Assistant Referee.  The match is part of the European Nations Cup where both teams play in the top league and is also part of the qualification process for the 2015 IRB World Cup.  Duncan already has happy memories of officiating on the Iberian Peninsular following a successful FIRA AER U19 tournament in Portugal earlier this year. Senior Rate lifts gold at annual Sports Award

A rugby playing Air Engineer has been named Sportsman of the Year 2013 at the annual Royal Navy Sports Awards. Fending off tough competition from fellow athletes, Chief Petty Officer (Air Engineering Technician) David Pascoe took the trophy for his contribution to Royal Navy Rugby.
