RNRU Appoints New RN Women's Head Coach

The new head coach for the RN Women's team is Lt (Dominic ‘Bali') Salisbury RN.  Bali will take over from Lt (Sam) Cuff RN who has moved over to the Navy Sharks team as well as being appointed as the Head Coach to Bath RFC Women's team, a great opportunity to expand his coaching portfolio. Bali is thrilled to take up the appointment and has already met with the Women's TSG and some of the players during the build up to this year's Army v Navy game. RN Women and Mariners Face the Army at Kneller Hall

The Royal Navy Rugby Union took on the Army Rugby Union in a ‘winner takes all' for the 2012 Babcock Inter Service Competition Trophy.  The Navy Teams met on Friday night at the Lensbury Club which was to be their home for the next couple of days.  This also allowed the President of the RNRU, Admiral Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE, to present the playing shirts to both the RN Women and the RN Mariners.  The evening also saw the presentation of the special Soapy Watson Memorial Trophy. And so to the main event of the day as the RN Senior XV with 11 new caps so far this season, took on one of the most experienced Army teams seen on the hallowed turf of Twickenham. This was an Army team that was able to call upon a Premiership Prop and an England International Sevens player from the bench. The game started with all the passion expected by the 65,000 crowd and it was not long before the trusted boot of Skipper POAET (Dave) Pascoe (RNAS Culdrose) gave the lead to the Navy 0-3.
