RNRU U23's

The RNRU U23's season progresses with a training weekend starting on Friday 28 Sep at HMS Sultan. The weekend will end with a fixture against London United Hospital's on Sunday 30 Sep KO 2.30pm. (Follow the game on Twitter@RNRugby)

The weekend will commence with a training session on Friday afternoon, which will allow the squad to bond and re-fresh the basic skills required. These skills will be developed during Saturday's sessions, working towards the playing style and game plan of the U23's.

RN U23s Head Coach Capt (Scott) Ashley RM (Fleet) said "We intend to use the coming weeks to develop the playing style and prepare the squad for the Inter Services competition, which begins on Friday 16 November with our first game against the RAF U23s at Burnaby Road, Portsmouth KO 7pm."

The squad will travel to Teddington for a game against London Hospitals on Sunday, the location for the match is:

Teddington Sports Ground
Udney Park Road
Teddington
Middlesex
TW11 9BB

A number of new players have been identified this season, this influx of new talent has never been more important, as a number of Senior U23 players are unavailable due to Operational Tours or have been selected to represent the RN Senior XV at the 2012 Commonwealth Cup.

There is still a requirement for more players and anyone who is interested should contact:

WO2 (Taff) Wilcock RN (U23s Assistant Team Manager) on 07711 854493.

Squad members and Ship, Base and unit PT Staff should be aware that the Administration Order for the weekend has been released and contains all the required information; again this is available from Taff.

Finally, an U23 Facebook group royalnavyunder23s has been set up to help inform players of training sessions and fixtures.
