Navy Referee For Army v RAF U23s
The RNRURS has selected a strong team of three for the Army v Air Force U23 Inter Services match this Saturday at Aldershot; it will be the deciding fixture with both the Army and RAF in with a shout of winning the competition. Geoff Howells takes charge, supported by Steve Woolley a Royal Navy Doctor and Royal Marine Andrew Ebbans as his Assistant Referees. The team is completed by Weapon Engineer Paddy Carbery who will be the fourth official. Geoff who is about to join the Type 45 Dauntless, began refereeing seriously in 2004 and has steadily risen through the refereeing levels with the Royal Navy and Hampshire. He is currently on the Southern Federation Development squad challenging for a position with the South West Group. Geoff said "it is a great honour to be selected for what is the deciding fixture of the competition". The team will be hoping for better weather conditions than in the first 2 fixtures that were blighted by high winds and rain.
