Maltese Falcons Meet Head On in Opening Inverdale Challenge

Wednesday’s opening, match in the Inverdale Challenge pits two of Royal Navy Rugby’s international players against each other when the usual front row colleagues of Kyle Mason and Harry Collins pack down for the Fleet Air Arm and Royal Marines respectively.

For Kyle, well known to Royal Navy Rugby followers, it will be a chance for him to put his surprise dropping from the Combined Services team behind him. With well over twenty international caps and seventeen Navy caps he has shown often enough that he is in the top three props in the Services and will relish the battle with fellow Malta International, Harry Collins.

Having only recently joined the Royal Marines, Harry is a product of Hartpury College, which has over the years produced a wealth of rugby talent. With nearly thirty international caps to his name he is sure to feature on the Navy Senior XV radar very soon. No doubt the two of them will enjoy their own battle within a battle at each scrum but more importantly will want to ensure their team get off to a winning start in the 2013-14 Inverdale Challenge. I am sure who ever is refereeing the match may well have their hands full and should perhaps remind the pair of adversaries that the four arms of the Maltese Cross, that they have both proudly worn, stand for the prudence, justice, fortitude and most importantly of all temperance.
